Senior Team Management 2010

The managemnt team in place for the past number of years has stepped down from their roles for the coming season. Trainer John Galvin and selectors Eugene Dennehhy and Mike O’Dwyer put in a huge effort during their reign and were unlucky not to ahve brought back more silverware. They all played a vital role in the development of our young team and we are indebted to all three of them for their dedicated and selfless service over the past few years.
A new management structure has been put in place for 2010. Brendy Donnelly has taken on the role of team trainer and this is a position he held before, with no little success. Brendy brings a wealth of experience from his time as selector with the Kerry Minors and has already began putting the panel through their paces in preparation for the coming season. He is joined by his selection team of Paddy Fogarty, Bernard Murphy, John D O’Shea and Dan Fitzpatrick, all of whom will bring different skills and atrributes to the set up. Eugene Dennehy and John D O’Shea are to continue in their role as B team trainers and John O’Dwyer will, once again, be at the helm for our minor footballers. We would like to wish all involved luck for the coming season.

Senior Citizens Celebrate

Jer O'SullivanThe senior citizens held their annual get together on Sunday 24th of Jan 2010. The location was the scenic Waterville Lake Hotel. The day began with mass which was celebrated by Fr John Kerin. This was followed by a delicious meal, prepared by the dedicated committee.
Afterwards, the afternoon continued with singing and dancing. Paddy and Rose provided the music and as usual Micheál Donnelly was the inimitable "Fear a' Tí ". Prizes in abundance were presented to various guests for their dancing skills, colour co-ordination, hair style etc.
Jer "The Yank" O'Sullivan was presented with a specially prepared cake to mark his 80th birthday. Mrs Dowd from Tarmons won the "Most Senior Lady" award at the age of 95 while it was Pádraig O'Dálaigh from Islandboy who retained his "Most Senior Gentleman" title at 91.
